Amazing Games 2016 was a course offered by Michael Liebe and Silja Rheingans held at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam in the summer semester of 2016. It was divided into two main parts – one being the media-theoretic introduction into the broad topic of games with a special interest in video games – and the other being the attendance at the A MAZE. indie games festival in Berlin. Its 4 day long schedule offered the attendees many talks from indie game developers coming from all over the world and also showcased many of their latest indie game developments in a daily changing exhibition. For the successful completion of the course, each participant was to write a report of the festival in English, containing protocols of some of the talks followed by a short comment of his own.
