Free the files - My Data, My Rules

Conventional File Management Systems have largely stayed the same since their conception. Rethinking the way we create and manage files is therefore a great opportunity. Our concept revolves around breaking down what a file actually means and opening it up for everyone to use. With just three given structural types plus a hand full of metadata fields and relations, the core concept is quite simple but allows for very complex data structures.

Concept

Data is broken down into »Fragments«, the smallest meaningful data unit. A fragment could be a piece of text, an image, a person and a few other things.

Fragments can be composed in a »Template« to a more expressiv data accumulation.

Of course Fragments must not have a direct relation with each other to be sorted. In this case »Collection« is of use.

Templates and Collections not just include Fragments but also other Templates and Collections.

All data is reusable and referenceable. It is in open and can be used by anyone without the need for special tools or software (with access permission).

The metadata is also exposed. This enables easier search and data management, permissions changes, collaboration and history restoration.
