This series represents a personal understanding of depression as something that we prefer to keep behind closed doors. It’s an attempt to symbolize the “hush hush” attitude that gives depression its stigma of shame:
I am ashamed of struggling.
Ashamed of not being strong enough.
I am ashamed of myself.
Ashamed for the desire to hide.
I am ashamed of being such a doormat.
But still, behind all those fears and downfalls there is always a hope to turn over one day and be able to see the light.
