1600 BACHELOR ARBEIT

In meiner Bachelorarbeit habe ich mich mit dem Beruf der Feuerwehr beschäftigt. Die Faszination für diesen Berufsstand begleitet mich schon lange. Ob als Kind oder jungen Erwachsenen, sobald ich in eine größere Stadt reise, ist einer meiner ersten Stops die örtliche Feuerwache. Die Selbstlosigkeit, die mit den gefährlichen Einsätzen, dem Löschen von Bränden und dem Retten von Menschenleben einhergeht, begeistert mich. Ich stelle mir die Frage, was es bedeutet es sein Leben der Arbeit bei der Feuerwehr zu widmen. Welche Faktoren spielen da eine Rolle? Geht es um den Zusammenhalt innerhalb der Einsatzgruppen oder um den Umgang mit Menschen im Arbeitsalltag? Ist es das Gefühl, gebraucht zu werden und einen gesellschaftlichen Sinn in der eigenen Tätigkeit zu sehen? Oder ist es die zwischenmenschliche Form der Wertschätzung, die den Feuerwehrleuten zukommt? Mit meinem Aufenthalt auf einer Berliner Feuerwache habe ich den Alltag der dort Arbeitenden beobachten und fotografisch dokumentiert. Ich möchte die Frage klären; ist es möglich in Bildern den Alltag der Feuerwehr darzustellen und dadurch zu beschreiben, welche Faktoren dazu führen, dass Menschen ihr Leben diesen Beruf widmen? Whether as a child or young adult, whenever I travel to a larger city, one of my first stops is the local fire station. The selflessness associated with dangerous operations, extinguishing fires, and saving lives fascinates me. I am asking myself what it means to dedicate one's life to working in the fire department. What factors come into play? Is it about the cohesion within the response teams or about dealing with people in everyday work? Is it the sense of being needed and finding societal meaning in one's activity? Or is it the interpersonal form of appreciation that firefighters receive? With my stay at a Berlin fire station, I want to observe the daily life of those working there and document it through photography. I aim to answer the question: Is it possible to depict the daily life of the fire department through images and thereby describe the factors that lead people to dedicate their lives to this profession?
