The idea of LOOP was a fashionable solution for freezing legs and arms. Wearing stuffed coats and warm boots keeps us warm. But our legs?
This is where LOOP comes handy!
Finding a solution that´s going to keep you warm and trendy was a challenge. My research shows how i went through this task.
After that, i created a moodboard to express what style i had in mind and where my inspiration comes from. Puffy jackets and boots were in my focus for a while now. They´re warming and very comfortable. Also i´m am big fan of the aesthetics.
First sketches the final look of the idea:
Five loops with a lot of filling! That´s what i had in mind before started prototyping. A secure edging to avoid slipping down was essential.
Inside, outside fabric and stuffing material.
I decided to go with two colors. One timeless dark purple option and one sporty orange one. For the edging i chose elastical black fabric. The inside fabric keeps the area very warm and cozy.
Prototyping
How much stuffing do i need? It was way too thick and made me be afraid of the LOOPS looking to bulky.
Finding the perfect amount of stuffing was a challenge. First i removed much more and lost the whole puffy look. I have decided to remove 15% of it and that was definitely the way to go.
Another reflection through the process was the shape of my final LOOPS. I came to the conclusion that they would fit more securely if i shape them like a cone.
